In Australia and New Zealand, hi-vis work clothing is made to AS/NZS 4602.1. The standard sorts garments into day (D), night (N) and day/night (D/N) classes, built from fluorescent background fabric, retroreflective tape or both. A logo has to live around that design, not on top of it.
That means the logo goes on the background areas, usually the chest, and never over the tape. It also means building for the fabric: fluoro polyester is thin, and a dense file made for a cotton polo will pucker it. We keep the density and stitch count down and add a stabilising underlay, so the vest or shirt still sits flat.
Branding the rest of the crew's gear? See workwear digitising for work shirts, jackets and caps, and chest logo sizing for keeping small logos readable.
We build the embroidery file and nothing more. Whether the decorated garment still complies is for the garment supplier or manufacturer to confirm, so check their decoration guidance before you stitch.
