Small text on thin, hard-washed fabric

Healthcare embroidery combines two things that fight each other: tiny lettering (a name and "RN, BSN" under a practice logo) and lightweight scrub fabric that puckers if density is too high.

We rebuild names and credentials with open letter spacing and a stitchable stroke weight, and keep the practice logo as light as it can be while still covering. Tie-offs are secured because scrubs go through frequent hot commercial laundering.

Small lettering sizes are covered in more depth on small lettering and sleeve digitizing, and chest logo sizing on left chest logos.

Puckering around a scrub-top logo is almost always density set for a polo. Scrubs need a lighter build of the same logo.

Adding staff names and credentials

Most practices want the logo plus a name and credentials on each garment. Tell us how you add names in production and send the name list or a sample layout, and we'll advise on letter size, one- or two-line layouts and spacing so every name reads clearly under the logo.

If a credential line is too small to read at your chosen size, we'll say so and suggest a larger size or a single-line layout before building.

FAQs

Healthcare digitizing questions

Scrub fabric is lighter and often stretchy, so a density that suits a piqué polo pulls it out of shape. Scrubs need a lighter build of the same logo with stable underlay.
Yes. We open the letter spacing and use a stitchable stroke weight. If a line is still too small to read at your size, we'll tell you and suggest a larger size before building.
Tell us how you add names in production and send the name list or a sample layout. We'll advise on size and layout so every name reads clearly under the logo.
Tie-offs are secured and density is kept where it stays flat, so logos and names hold up through frequent hot commercial laundering.
Yes. Animal artwork is simplified only where detail won't read at chest size, and you see the result in the preview first.
Usually. Lab coat twill is heavier and more stable than scrub fabric, so it takes a slightly fuller build. Tell us both garments and we'll supply each version.
