Cap Digitising
Curved Panel. Clean Result.

Cap digitising is a specialist discipline. The curved surface of a structured cap creates stitch registration challenges that flat embroidery does not. Our cap specialists sequence from front to back for every cap construction.

Structured 6-panel caps, dad hats, snapbacks, fitted caps, beanies. 3D puff available. All constructions. From £12.

01 Cap Types We Cover

Every cap construction handled.

🧢
Structured 6-Panel
Front panels sequenced correctly to prevent registration drift. The most common commercial cap construction, handled with the specialist care it requires.
From £12
🎯
3D Puff Caps
3D puff foam underlay for bold raised effect. Foam thickness matched to panel depth. Clean edge coverage that holds its shape.
From £15
🎩
Dad Hats & Unstructured
Unstructured panels have different movement characteristics. Compensation and sequencing adjusted for the softer construction.
From £12
🧣
Beanies & Knits
Knit and ribbed fabrics require specific underlay and density settings that prevent the design from sinking into the knit texture.

02 Why Cap Digitising Is Different

The curved panel challenge explained.

The curved surface of a structured cap creates a different stitching environment from a flat polo shirt. Designs must be sequenced from front to back of the panel to prevent registration drift.

Push-pull compensation must account for the curve of the panel, not just the general fabric movement. These are specialist skills. Not all digitisers offer them, and generic files produce visible problems on caps that run cleanly on flat garments.

Our cap specialists produce files specifically for your cap construction. Tell us whether it is structured or unstructured, snapback or fitted, and we plan the file accordingly.

Every cap file is planned from the front panel backward. This is the only way to prevent the stitch registration drift that causes cap embroidery to look misaligned on the finished garment.

01
Front-to-back sequencing
The design must build from the front of the cap panel backward to prevent registration drift as the cap surface curves away from the needle.
02
Curved push-pull compensation
The curvature of a structured cap panel creates different push-pull dynamics from a flat garment. Compensation is adjusted specifically for the cap panel depth.
03
Construction-specific planning
Structured caps, unstructured dad hats, and snapbacks each have different fabric movement during hooping. Each requires a different planning approach.
04
3D puff integration
For 3D puff caps, foam thickness is selected based on the panel construction and depth, ensuring full foam coverage and clean edges.
