Blazers, jumpers & PE kit

School Crest and Schoolwear Embroidery Digitising

School crest digitising rebuilds heraldic detail (shields, mottos, fine linework) so it stays legible at 60–80mm on blazer pockets, jumpers, polos and PE kit, and survives constant washing. Schoolwear suppliers searching for crest digitizing get a flat price per design, with detailed crests quoted first, 4–8 hour delivery and a VAT invoice.

School crests

Heraldry at pocket size

Most school crests were drawn for letterheads and signs: a shield, a charge or two, a banner and a Latin motto. On a blazer pocket that whole design has to work at around 60–80mm, in thread, on wool-blend cloth.

We triage the crest before building. Bold shapes stay, fine hatching and tiny charges are simplified, and the motto gets the most attention because it is the first thing to fill in. You see every simplification in the preview before you approve.

Crests stitched on jumpers and PE kit need their own builds, and sew-on blazer badges are a different file again: see sew-on blazer badges. Staff and office wear for the school uses the school logo on staff wear route.

Parents notice when the jumper crest doesn't match the blazer. We build each garment's version from the same reference so colours and proportions stay consistent.

FAQs

School crest digitising questions

Yes. The pocket file stitches directly onto the blazer, and the badge version is built as a patch with a border for merrowed or laser-cut edges.
Motto text is the hardest element at 60–80mm. We adjust spacing and satin width, and if it still won't read, we show you options (shorter banner, larger badge) before building.
Each garment gets its own build because knitwear and blazer cloth behave differently, but all versions are built from the same reference so colours and proportions match.
Blazer pocket crests are typically 60–80mm wide. Tell us the size your school uses and we build to it.
Yes. Photograph it flat and square-on with a ruler in shot. We rebuild the crest as a new file and ask about any unclear detail or wording.
Tie-offs are locked and density is set for each fabric, so crests stay flat and secure through regular washing.
Each design has one flat price set by its complexity (simple logo, detailed crest or complex heraldic crest), with every machine format, unlimited revisions and a VAT invoice included; see the price table on this page or the full UK price list. Rush (2–4 hours) and super rush (1–2 hours) add 50%.
