The difference
Thread breaks are usually a file problem.
An automatic converter traces the edges of your artwork and fills them in. It has no opinion about the fabric you are sewing on, and the fabric is the only thing that matters once the hoop is in the machine. Here is what a person decides instead.
Density set for the fabric
Too dense and the fabric puckers. Too light and the design looks thin. Density follows the weight and weave of what you are sewing on.
Underlay that holds it up
Without the right underlay, designs sink into fleece, piqué and terry and the edges go soft.
Push-pull compensation
Fabric moves while it is stitched, so shapes are drawn wrong on purpose to finish the right size.
Sewing order that behaves
Fewer jumps and colour changes, and no later block distorting one already sewn.
Tie-ins and tie-offs
Locking stitches, so thread does not unravel in production or in the first wash.

PlixaLabs is a trading name of Zorixo Ventures Ltd, registered in England and Wales, with a trading address in Dagenham. The files are made by our own team, employees of our group company in Bengaluru. Nothing goes to a freelancer or a marketplace, which is why the same hand can pick up a repeat order a year later. The questions we actually get asked.
Yes. Orders are invoiced by Zorixo Ventures Ltd (company number 15975548, VAT number GB 506 4612 12), and every B2B order includes a VAT invoice. Approved trade accounts can also pay on Net-30: see UK trade accounts.
Standard files take 4–8 hours, rush 2–4 hours and super rush 1–2 hours, and both faster options add 50%. The team works 24/7, weekends and bank holidays included, so a standard order sent at 9am is due by 5pm the same day, and one sent at 6pm is due by 2am.
Brother machines read PES files and Tajima machines read DST. We also supply JEF, VP3, EXP, HUS, TAP and others. Put your machine make and model on the order and we send the right file at no extra cost; the file formats guide explains each extension.

We convert artwork into a stitch file your embroidery machine can sew (in the US this is spelt digitizing). That means choosing stitch types, angles, density, underlay and the order colours sew in for your fabric, then saving the design in your machine's format. Send us a photo of the sew-out and tell us the fabric and machine. Revisions are unlimited with no time limit, so we adjust density, underlay or stitch order until the design runs cleanly.
