Why a JPEG won't simply convert

JPEG saves space by discarding detail. Zoom into a logo copied from a website and you'll find stepped edges, muddy corners and faint colour halos wherever two colours meet.

Online converters trace all of that, so the vector keeps every blemish. We look past the compression to the shape the logo is meant to be, and draw that with clean paths and flat colour.

Transparent PNGs

Transparent PNG ≠ vector

A PNG with no background feels print-ready, but it's still made of pixels. Scale it up and it softens; a plotter or screen printer has no paths or separate colours to work from.

It also carries a halo, a ring of part-transparent pixels blended with the background it was exported on. On a dark DTF transfer or a navy polo that ring shows as a pale outline. Redrawn as vector, the edge is a clean path and the halo disappears.

No. It's still pixels, so it blurs when enlarged and can't be cut or colour-separated until it's redrawn as paths.
No. That puts the same pixels inside a vector container, which printers and cutters reject. Our free EPS and AI viewer shows whether a file contains real paths.
The largest, least-compressed version you have, but don't hold off for a better one. We redraw from what's visible and ask about anything unreadable.
That's the halo from a PNG exported on a light background. Redrawing as vector removes it, because the edge becomes a clean path.
Yes. JPG and JPEG are the same format with a different file extension, and both are redrawn the same way.
For a bold, simple logo in one or two colours they often are. They struggle with small text, thin lines, compression artefacts and colour separations.
